I have worked in the funeral industry for eleven years in various positions, which has given me the opportunity to experience the many different roles that come into play when we lose someone we love. It is a specialised area. It’s not something you learn so much as something you feel called to do for the families you are privileged to look after.

I feel a real sense of wanting to make a difference to each family I meet. Sometimes that means thinking outside the box, knowing what to say, how to say it, and when not to speak at all. People experiencing shock or loss for the first time may hear you without really listening, and the void they feel can overtake normal senses and change what they need in those moments. I often think I should have done this years ago, but then remind myself it’s our own life experiences that make us who we are today.

Bare are well respected, true to their word, and genuinely want families to have the best funeral possible for half the price. I applaud them for all they do, and you only have to read the feedback to see it’s not just me who thinks they are awesome.
