Mem, Arranger.
I was drawn to the funeral industry after a few years of supporting people through one of life’s most significant moments as a marriage celebrant. As I’ve gotten older, loss has touched my life more, and I sensed that the same care and support I’d offered people as they celebrated finding their loved one could translate to caring for and supporting families who have lost theirs. Bare was a magical right-place, right-time opportunity, and I continue to be grateful for it every day in my role as Tasmania’s Arranger.
I’m a proud import—I arrived from the mainland over a decade ago and never left. Tassie has my whole heart, so it’s a good thing I love cold weather. I really do, though! I’ve travelled through parts of Europe and North America strictly during the wintry months, enjoying three White Christmases, and on my 40th birthday I jumped into a fjord in Norway and called it my Fjordieth. What can I say? I love a bad pun.
I believe laughter is medicine, especially when it feels like if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry. I also believe singing is therapy, and I love to belt out the high notes with my choir, The Kinsey Scales.
